MARTIN SIMPSON

LEGENDARY 'SMOKE AND MIRRORS' ALBUM

In 1995 Martin recorded this album for a new US label called Thunderbird Records. It is a blues album and features the great Ronnie Earl on electric guitar as well as Simpson stalwarts like Hank Roberts on cello, Doug Robinson on bass and Rick Walker on percussion. Rhiannon imported 1,000 copies of the album and renumbered it RHYD 5011 for the European market. We had long since assumed all copies had been sold, and since the album is the subject of a legal action in the US courts no more copies exist. However, on opening a box of what I thought were Barry Dransfield CDs I found nine copies of this album. To the best of my knowledge these are the last remaining new copies of this album available for purchase in this country, and perhaps anywhere. Cover photos and track listing below, these copies are available for a very reasonable £40 each, UK postage by registered mail included. For obvious reasons, please call or preferably email before sending money, and sterling cheques made payable to Colin Jones only please.
